DNSmasq.DNS.and.DHCP.CVE-2020-25681.Out.of.Bounds.Write
Description
This indicates an attack attempt to exploit an Out of Bounds Write Vulnerability in DNSmasq/Mikrotik DNSmasq.
The vulnerability is in processing canonical names of a RR record in the get_rdata() function while sorting RR records. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a DNS query to a Dnsmasq server that receives a malicious DNS response. Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary code execution in the security context of the Dnsmasq process. Unsuccessful exploitation results in a crash of the Dnsmasq process leading to a denial-of-service condition.
