Fortinet Discovers Adobe Illustrator Out-of-Bounds Read Vulnerability


Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Systems for macOS and Windows.

An out-of-bounds read vulnerability has been discovered in Illustrator by FortiGuard Labs. The vulnerability is caused by a crafted "DWG" file which causes an out-of-bounds memory access. It could allow malicious users to create memory leak scenarios.


FortiGuard Labs released the following FortiGate IPS signature which covers this specific vulnerability:

Fortinet reported the vulnerability to Adobe on January 11, 2022.

Adobe confirmed the vulnerability on March 28, 2022.

Adobe patched the vulnerability on June 14, 2022.


This vulnerability was discovered by Yonghui Han of Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs.
