Fortinet Discovers Corel Presentations Memory Corruption Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a Memory Corruption vulnerability in Corel Presentations 2020.

Corel Presentations is a commercial presentation program by Corel. It is akin to Microsoft Powerpoint and LibreOffice Impress. It can be a handy tool for creating effective and in-depth presentations. It includes a number of templates and different types of slide shows to help to lay out an end user's show properly. The templates include a set background, font, color and set up of the slide. These defaults can be changed within the slide show.

A memory corruption vulnerability has been discovered in Corel Presentations 2020. The vulnerability is caused by a crafted "PPT" file which causes an out-of-bounds memory access. It could allow malicious users to gain sensitive information.
