Fortinet Discovers Adobe Lightroom Classic Insecure Library Loading Vulnerability


Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered an Insecure Library Loading vulnerability in Adobe Lightroom Classic.

Adobe Lightroom Classic is a desktop editing tool which is created to assist professional photographers in post-production.

Adobe Lightroom Classic is susceptible to an Insecure Library Loading vulnerability. The issue occurs when the application looks to load a DLL for execution and an attacker provides a malicious DLL to use instead. The application generally follows a specific search path to locate the DLL. The vulnerability can be exploited to load a foreign DLL running under the context of the application.

Fortinet reported the vulnerability to Adobe on April 10, 2020.

Adobe confirmed and patched the vulnerability on August 11, 2020.


This vulnerability was discovered by Honggang Ren of Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs.
