Fortinet Discovers WordPress Easy Testimonials Plugin Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in WordPress Easy Testimonials Plugin.

Easy Testimonials is an easy-to-use plugin that allows users to add Testimonials to the sidebar, as a widget, or to embed testimonials into a Page or Post using the shortcode.

The Easy Testimonials is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the testimonial creation form due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
