Fortinet Discovers SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer Memory Corruption Vulnerability II
Summary
Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a Memory Corruption vulnerability in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer.
SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer (VEV) is a free 3D visualization viewer for Windows. VEV allows collaboration, analytics, as well as assembly and maintenance work instructions to be delivered in interactive real-time 3D. VEV can run Standalone, in HTML, in MS Office, and or embedded in a variety of SAP Solutions.
A memory corruption vulnerability has been discovered in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer. The vulnerability can be triggered by a crafted DDS file which causes an out-of-bounds write, due to improper bounds checking. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could grant an attacker remote code execution.
Solutions
