Denial of Service Vulnerability in Macromedia Flash Player 2006.July.05 The Fortinet Security Research Team has discovered a Denial of Service vulnerability in Macromedia Flash Player. Summary: When a user visits a website which contains .swf files, the web browser will start flash player to play the content. An attacker can create a malformed, compressed .swf file that when opened by certain versions of Macromedia Flash Player, will cause the web browser to crash leading to a denial of service condition. Additional Info: These vulnerabilities were first reported to the vendor on November 28 2005. Macromedia has since fixed this vulnerabilities in the latest versions of Flash player.
