Grew.A Email And Network Worm Threat

W32/Grew.A!wm is a mass-mailing worm that attempts to spread through network shares and lower security settings. Fortinet rates it as a level 4 threat. It accounted for approximately 15% of malware activity worldwide since its discovery.

When executed, this worm disables mouse and keyboard of an affected system, gathers emails from files on the system and then sends itself as an email to those addresses. Attachment varies between the executable and a MIME file containing the executable. In addition it spreads through shared folders across networked systems. The payload is compromising security of the system by deleting files related to Antivirus product installations and terminates security processes.
